The new Mabey Atlas bridge will provide access for a fabrication site serving the oil and gas sector in northeast Scotland.

Subsea 7 has ordered the bridge to enable road access for heavy vehicles and pipeline structures to its site near Wick, where fabrication takes place before the pipeline bundles are towed offshore.

Subsea 7 general manager Willie Wattsaid: “We chose Mabey and its Atlas bridge because of the reliability of its products and its experience installing bridges in challenging locations. This new bridge enables quicker, safer and improved access to our site ensuring we can accommodate the ever-increasing sizes and requirements of our subsea pipeline solutions for the North Sea.”

The bridge will be installed by Mabey in spring 2017.
