The contract to design and supervise construction of a new bridge on the island of Al Habal Al Abiadh has been awarded to consultant High-Point Rendel. Some 11km of road is also included in the contract for the three-span bridge over a dredged canal. Fast-track design is being carried out with concurrent tendering of works to a preliminary design, and construction is expected to take 12 months.
