Independent private consulting practice Flint & Neill has become part of Danish consulting group Cowi.
UK-based Flint & Neill was founded 50 years ago and provides specialist engineering services for projects including bridges.
"This provides a secure platform on which we can continue to provide the expert and specialist services for which we are already well known, and opens up opportunities for participation in major projects which we could not previously handle alone," said partner Ian Firth.
Flint & Neill will retain its name and continue to operate in much the same way as before. Firth and fellow-partner David MacKenzie will continue to lead the firm in the roles of chief operating officer and chief executive officer respectively. Long-standing staff members Jerry Cutter, John Rees and Paul Sanders are newly appointed as directors.
"This new relationship with Cowi enables us to continue what we already do but with additional capacity, and presents opportunities for growth and diversification," said MacKenzie.
