Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail is planning to let several two-year framework agreements for the assessment of scour and flooding threats to railway bridges.
Up to six consultants will be invited to participate. The work will involve providing services including expertise in hydrology for flood relief schemes and railway bridge scour suceptibility assessment for 500 bridges. It will cover risk assessment and risk mitigation for a prioritised list of 605 structures.
Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail envisages the work in assessing and analysing the susceptibility of structures over water will be carried out over a period of two years, with first stage reports produced within 12 months.
