The building commission in the US state of Wisconsin has approved a resolution granting the department of transportation authority to finance the St Croix Interstate Bridge project.
The project will build a bridge on a major interstate between the States of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
It will replace the 80-year-old Stillwater Lift Bridge with a four-lane bridge that will connect expressways on both sides of the St Croix River.
Construction us tentatively scheduled to begin in 2013 and take about three years to complete. The cost is put at US$571 million to US$676 million
