Welding Research Institute and Hindustan Construction have signed an agreement for the construction of a 4.94km rail bridge over the Brahmaputra River between Assam and Arunachal.
The US$602 million project is due for completion by 2015.
The WRI wukk provide services including consultancy and inspection of welds as well as training of welding engineers, supervisors and welders.
