Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has selected HDR Engineering as the consultant for the design of the New Route 47 Missouri River Bridge.

The next step is for MoDOT and HDR to negotiate the contract.

"We are excited to move to the next step for a new Route 47 Missouri River Bridge," said MoDOT’s Judy Wagner. "This is a great step for Franklin and Warren counties to ensure a new bridge will be constructed that is a vital link for this community."

The cantilevered truss bridge was built in 1934.  Its main span is 144m and it is 780m in length, with a deck width of 6.7m and vertical clearance of 4.45m.  The bridge carries two lanes of traffic.
