The Buffalo & Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority has announced the start of detailed design work for three separate renovation projects related to the Peace Bridge.
The projects include the rehabilitation and expansion of the customs commercial building, a new exit ramp and entry underpass and bridge approach widening.
The renovations represent in more than US$40 million in enhancements to the existing US plaza.
Wendell Duscherer will design the US$20+ million customs commercial building renovation with construction to start towards the end of 2013. Greenman Pedersen will handle the US$10+ million exit ramp and entry underpass project with construction to begin in spring 2013. And the US$10+ million bridge widening will be undertaken by Parsons Transportation Group with work set to start in late-2013.
