Modjeski & Masters has been selected to provide moveable bridge expertise for the Fore River Bridge design and build project in Massachussetts, USA.
The engineering firm will work in partnership with the Parsons, JF White-Skanska team that was appointed by the client last month (link opens in new tab).
The project involves the complete replacement of the existing temporary vertical lift bridge with a new permanent vertical lift bridge. The new bridge will be built on the same alignment as an adjacent 1936 bascule bridge, which was demolished in 2004. Modjeski & Masters will work on the electrical and mechanical design for the new truss-style lift span.
