Vinci has now signed the contract for the massive Qatar–Bahrain causeway that will reduce journey times from five hours to just 30 minutes. Vinci Construction Grands Projets leads a consortium for the US$3 billion design-build contract which will provide a 40km two-lane dual carriageway motorway between Qatar and Bahrain.

The bridge was closed last week after a cast steel connection between the cable and the arch fractured and the cable fell on to the deck.
