Our Client is looking for an Engineering Assistant/Bridge Inspector. You will identify and undertake inspection of structures supporting the highway in Hertfordshire and assist with update of database. Activities to be undertaken within agreed programme and to budget. For this position you will be required to have Practical understanding and knowledge of structural inspection and identification of defects. You will arrange other surveys, land surveys, safety audits etc with other teams in accordance with the scheme programme. You will prepare reports on identified problems and recommend suitable solutions and monitor financial aspects of work. A Senior Bridge Design Engineer is required to assist the Technical Manager / Structures Portfolio Manager with all activities relating to the design, maintenance and construction of bridges on the Highways Agency Area 5 Motorway network. The successful candidate will take the lead on all aspects of scheme project delivery, client liaison, project financial reporting and supervision of Graduate Engineers. You must have a MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering and be Chartered or nearing Chartered Engineer status. The candidate must have be able to work in design and site offices, and on the network, as required by the job. You will have excellent appearance, manner, and communication skills.
