New schedule set for Brent Spence Bridge
Published:  February 25, 2008

A series of revised dates has been announced for the new Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio River between Kentucky and Ohio in the USA. Recommendation of the preferred alternative has been put back to August next year, with a view to publishing the draft environmental document in September 2010, instead of February next year as originally scheduled.

Certified traffic data is due to be submitted in June this year, followed by a set of revised alternatives in August. The conceptual alternatives study will be refined to a list of feasible alternatives, which is due for submission in October.

The August 2009 assessment of feasible alternatives is aimed at providing a basis for recommending a preferred alternative and will be followed by a verification of the chosen option and publication of the draft environmental document the following year. The final environmental document is now scheduled to be submitted in April 2011 instead of mid-August 2009.
