Construction begins of Manukau Harbour Crossing
Published: April 09, 2008
New Zealand's transport minister Annette King has today turned the first sod in a ceremony to start construction of the new US$183 million Manukau Harbour Crossing. It will stand alongside an existing 25-year-old bridge to provide additional capacity across the harbour. The new and existing bridges will each feature four lanes and bus shoulder lanes north towards Onehunga and south towards Mangere. Construction is due for completion in 2011. |
