Dubai's Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is embarking on beautification project covering a 10.5 hectares around the new Al Garhoud Bridge and the bridge itself. The intention is to reshape the bridge as a landmark of modern Dubai as part of a vision for roads, bridges, tunnels and open spaces that combine technical, aesthetic and environmental excellence.

RTA Traffic & Roads Agency's chief executive officer, engineer Maitha bin Adi, said that the landscaping project stems from the importance of the bridge as one of the key projects completed by the authority this year. The project includes trees-covered corridors, benches, new flooring, creative lighting and decoration of the bridge's walls with artwork to emulate sand dunes during the daytime and lighting to create an impression of moving waves at night.
