North Shore Footbridge

The smaller of the two arches for the North Shore Footbridge in north east England is being installed today.

The US$30 million structure will span the River Tees, linking the North Shore development and the Teesdale area. The twin span crossing is a fabricated steel twin tied arch structure, to a competition-winning design by Expedition Engineering and Spence Associates. It is being built by Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering, working with Cleveland Bridge and Dorman Long. The contract was awarded by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and the construction project is being managed by White Young Green.
