Royal Haskoning's design for a 450m-long cable stayed bridge has been chosen for a new motorway link to Dubai's largest artificial Palm Island, Jebel Ali.

The design was chosen by developer Nakheel from an international field of entries.

The bridge will have a main span of 225m and two 135m-high pylons. It will carry an eight lane motorway and will also include provision for cyclists and pedestrians.
