Three shortlisted for San Diego lighting scheme

San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge

An artistic lighting scheme is planned for the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge.

The Port of San Diego has recommended teams from France, the UK and the USA as finalists to design a multi-million dollar artistic lighting scheme for the the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge. The Bideau Company of France, the Peter Fink team from London and a Californian team of Ned Kahn, Patrick McInerney Associates and Jason Edling were picked, together with two alternate teams, both from the USA.

The design teams will be paid a stipend of $15,000 to cover design fees, research, accommodation and travel during public presentations at the end of the year. The entire project is expected to cost between US$2 million and US$3 million for design, fabrication and installation.
