Work restarts at Can Tho Bridge
Published: August 27, 2008
Construction of Vietnam's Can Tho Bridge resumed this week, 11 months after work had been suspended following a fatal accident. A 90m-long section of the approach collapsed last September, killing 54 workers and injuring many more. The contracting consortium of Taisei, Kajima and Nippon Steel has augmented the safety measures at the site, including bringing in additional engineers from Japan and using a new alarm system. |
