Pakistan approves series of bridge projects

The executive committee of Pakistan's National Economic Council yesterday approved five bridges as part of a package of 28 public sector development projects.

Largest of the five is a 1.2km-long bridge over the River Indus connecting Larkana and Khairpur Districts. Its cost is put at US$108 million. Three other bridges over the Indus are also included in the package, as well as one over the River Chenab between Shorkot and Garh Mahraja.
