SIAC secures Polish contract
Published:  July 29, 2010

SIAC Construction  has won a US$473 million contract to build 35km of motorway in southern Poland.

The scheme, part of the motorway between Krakow and Rzeszów, involves construction of 28 bridges including a 22-span river crossing. Work on the project will start in August and is expected to take 24 months to complete.

“With the downturn in the economy reducing major infrastructure project opportunities across Ireland and Great Britain, we took a strategic decision to try and develop international markets where we saw potential," said chairman Ronnie Foreman.

Projects in SIAC's portfolio include the landmark Boyne Bridge on Northern Ireland's M1 motorway.
