Design and build contract let in east London
Published: February 12, 2004
Construction of a replacement for Temple Mills Bridge over London’s River Lea is set to start in May. A US$3.4 million contract has been awarded to Norwest Holst, with Hyder Consulting supervising the work on behalf of Hackney Council. The original 1960s bridge suffered from extensive chloride contamination and seizure of its bearings. The bridge lies within the area proposed as the principal site for London's 2012 Olympics bid. |
