Masterplan to be prepared for Afghanistan roads

The Asian Development Bank has awarded a US$2 million grant towards a development masterplan and improvement project that will help rehabilitate Afghanistan's road network. Much of the country's road infrastructure has been damaged in more than two decades of conflict, with wrecked bridges and tunnels causing bottlenecks. ADB pledged US$1 billion in loans and grants to Afghanistan at an international conference on the country’s future held earlier this year. |
