Delayed bidding resumes for Mumbai mega bridge
Published: August 31, 2004
Bidding is set to start for a record-breaking 22.5km sea crossing in India. The competition for the bridge had originally been announced in February but was then deferred. The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be built on a build, operate and transfer basis. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation is now inviting prequalification bids for the US$566 million scheme. The 22.5km, six lane road bridge will join Mumbai to Navi Mumbai, creating India's longest cross-sea link. Spans will vary between 50m and 150m, with vertical clearances from 9.1m to 25m. The global tender invitation specifies criteria that bidders must meet, in terms of net worth, cash profit and experience. Project information and the prequalification document will be available from 6 September until 10 November and a project briefing will be held on 20 October. Prequalification bids are due in by 3pm on 23 November. Further details from [http://www.msrdc.org/] (opens in new window) |
