The 488m-long bridge has been built in a scenic, mountainous area of Hebei province, where it links two rocky faces about 218m above ground level.

About 600 people at a time can cross the 4m-wide bridge, whose deck is made of more than 1,000 panes of 40mm-thick glass. The bridge is supported by more than 120t of cables.

Glass bridges can also be found in other parts of China, including Zhangjiajie, where a 430m-long, 6m-wide bridge crosses between two steep cliffs 300m above the ground.
