OHL subsidiary Judlau has been appointed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority - Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority (MTA TBTA) for the work on the 57-year-old suspension bridge. It will replace the deck in the suspended span of the bridge as well as carrying out other work to rehabilitate the structure.
The concrete-filled grid deck within the suspended spans will be replaced with an orthotropic steel deck. Other tasks include the replacement of four suspender ropes, repairs to steelwork and strengthening and painting of the main trusses.
