Vestland County has awarded Skanska the US$75 million contract for the new Ytre Steinsund Bridge.
The contract involves the design and construction of a new bridge with a length of 811m. It will be built approximately 50m above sea level and have five spans.
The new bridge will replace the Daløy-Haldorsneset ferry connection and give the residents of the Island of Ytre Sula a fixed connection to the neighbouring island of Sula and to Hardbakke.
Detailed engineering will start immediately, and the construction work will begin first quarter of 2024 with an expected completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
