The owners of the Humber Bridge, UK, have signed a contract with California-based Neology.

Humber Bridge Board has committed to a multiyear contract for an AI-based free-flow system that uses an automatic number plate reader. Once the system, which will require more back-office staff, is in place, the bridge will no longer have toll booths.

Motorists can pay the Humber Bridge Toll using a new website or a mobile app. People will also be able to pay the toll in cash at certain locations, but not on the bridge itself or the bridge offices.
