Provincia di Parma has selected an Italian-Spanish consortium for the design and feasibility studies of a bridge over the Po River.

In 2017, inspections of the 1958 bridge that connects Colorno and Casalmaggiore revealed wear in the beams supporting the deck and cracks on the Gerber beams. The bridge was closed for work that would keep it in use until a replacement could be funded.
Provincia di Parma received 18 bids for the work and selected a consortium of Spanish company Ayesa and the Italian company Enser Srl.
The new bridge will be constructed in two stages alongside the old to minimise disruption.
