Tenders for the building of a new bridge carrying Mozambique’s main north-south highway over the Licungo River will be released later this year.

The US government aid agency Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signed a US$537 million agreement with the east African nation to build roads and infrastructure, including the 1.7km bridge over the Licungo River in Mocuba in the province of Zambezia.

The new bridge will bypass the existing Licungo River bridge, which was built in the 1940s.

Contractors interested in receiving a request for information document about the project are invited to email the Gabinete do Desenvolvimento do Compacto-II at mcamocambiquepa@dt-global.com.
