Turkey set to begin road and bridge privatisation
Turkey’s Privatisation Administration (OIB) has announced the schedule for the privatisation of certain segments of the country’s bridges and highway network.
OIB deputy president Ahmet Aksu said that the privatisation process for the country’s highways and bridges is set to begin by June. The privatisation is expected to attract foreign investors from the USA, Europe and the Far East, according to Aksu.
Bridges and motorways that have been earmarked for inclusion in the privatisation plan include the two bridges over the Bosphorus with their ring motorways, as well as at least eight other motorways.
Turkey’s privatisation programme also includes ports and marinas, with tenders taking place this year.
