Six beams measuring 38m have made an overnight journey from south Wales to north west England near Manchester where they will be installed for a new bridge over the M56 motorway.

The 78t beams were fabricated by Mabey Bridge and delivered to a site close to the motorway. It will now take four months to build the new M56 Bowdon View Bridge. The entire 1,830t, 78m-long structure will then be transported 500m along the motorway and manoeuvred into position over the motorway in October.
