Washington’s City of Lynnwood is inviting bids for an approximately 183m-long, six-lane bridge designed to accommodate multimodal travel, with a sidewalk on one side and a shared-use path on the opposite. Located in Snohomish County, about 26km north of Seattle, the project aims to improve access and traffic circulation in Lynnwood’s city centre.

The new bridge will span the I-5 highway between 196th Street SW/State Route 524, Poplar Way/33rd Avenue W, and Alderwood Mall Boulevard. The adjacent intersections will be modified to align with the bridge’s new profile and width, while a three-sided concrete box tunnel will carry the regional multi-use Interurban Trail beneath the crossing. The scope of works also includes widening and restriping sections of Poplar Way, 196th Street SW, Alderwood Mall Boulevard, 33rd Avenue W and Alderwood Mall Parkway. The design was developed by Lynnwood’s Public Works Department.

Bonds are required and prevailing wages apply. The deadline for questions is 1 December, with bid proposals due 9 December. Project documents are available via the bid invitation (link opens in new page).
