The cabinet of Delhi in India has approved construction of a US$238 million landmark bridge in the city's Wazirabad area.
The 575m-long cable-stayed Wazirabad Bridge - also known as the Signature Bridge - has been designed by Schlaich Bergermann & Partner. It has a main span of 251m. The project was tendered last year, with Gammon India submitting the lowest bid.
The scheme had been delayed for several years, primarily because of issues relating to its cost.
