Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has appointed Baker to carry out the final design and provide post-design services for an amount not to exceed US$22.49 million. The project’s overall programme cost is estimated at about US$327.5 million.

The project’s final design stage is expected to take 18 months to complete. The Commission will then tender the construction contract with a view to starting work on site in early 2017.

The current bridge will remain in service until the first half of the replacement bridge is fully in place across the river and ready to carry traffic in both directions on a temporary basis.
