The start date of competition phase remains undecided pending the outcome of the legal challenge. It had been due to begin on 19 September but had to be put on hold when the complaint was made to the court.

The city of Helsinki has this month submitted its response to the court. The time for processing the case is estimated at several months and the competition cannot be started until the court’s verdict is delivered.

In total, 51 competitors from around the world signed up for the competition, and 10 of these were selected for the actual competition phase.
