The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in the US state of Alaska has published a new estimate that puts the cost of the Knik Arm Crossing project at US$686 million, of which US$373 million is for the 2.5km bridge itself.
The independent cost estimate was prepared by National Constructors Group using preliminary plans and quantities supplied by the Knik Arm Bridge and Toll Authority.
The work is based on a design-build delivery strategy for the project, with a notice to proced due to be issued in April.
