The grant, which is worth over US$127 million, will allow for a new structure to be built immediately south of the existing viaduct, which will connect to a redesigned interchange with the I-75 highway.
“For years, plenty of politicians have talked about rebuilding bridges across the country – with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law we passed last year, we’re finally getting it done,” said US senator for Ohio, Sherrod Brown. We are starting here in Cincinnati with the full replacement of the Western Hills Viaduct – a bridge that has become a danger for our communities.”
