Better coordination is needed between European fibre reinforced composite pultruders, says the study, as suppliers have fragmented strategies for promotion and awareness.
The study examines developments in the European market for composite profiles in relation to the world pultrusion markets. The aim was to identify current and future developments and how companies in the pultrusion sector can prepare themselves.
European production volume is set to grow from 75,000t to 95,000t in the next five years, with building and construction expected to experience the biggest market growth.
The report calls for the academic world to be more involved in research and development and for young engineers to be educated in the technology. Standardisation remains a major area of concern according to the report, and ISO standards may be needed.
