Ruukki has signed a contract with YIT Construction to supply and install the steelwork for a 400m-long bridge over Finland's Kyrönsalmi Strait in Savonlinna.
The bridge will consist of a steel composite girder section together with a bascule section that will provide passage for shipping.
The girders will be delivered to the site from Ruukki's plant in Ylivieska, Finland. They will be supplied in large sections that are ready for installation.
Ruukki will start manufacturing the steelwork later this year and the bridge will open to traffic in summer 2011.
