Site mobilisation begins for 1.1km Philippines bridge
Site preparation is under way for construction by Shimizu and FF Cruz of a 1.1km bridge over the Angat River in the Philippines.
Present activities include clearing and developing the site and carrying out surveying and materials testing in conjunction with the project supervision consultants Renardet and Nippon Engineering Consultants.
The US$27.5m project involves the construction of the 1.12km Angat Bridge, which will be 8.25m wide and consist of seven spans of continuous prestressed concrete box girder to be erected by balance cantilever method.
Procurement has also begun for the next package of the 24km highway project, a 7.7km bypass for which local and foreign contractors are invited to submit bids to the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) by 20 October.
