The two 88m parallel glulam timber beams were lowered directly on to the suspended cables by a 650t crane. The structure is suspended over the Mura river on high-strength FLC cables via steel frames and tension rods. The bearing cables are attached to V-shaped concrete pylons at the abutments. Panels of larch and Accoya protect the wooden bearing structure, along with insect nets and stainless steel lids. The deck is made from cross-laid grooved Accoya boards.
The design was by Ponting and the works were by Pomgrad, Teufelberger-Redaelli, BS VAR, Sustersic, Up2Plan and Knuplez (link opens in new tab).
