Turkey's general director of highways Cahit Turan has announced that the tender process for a third bridge over the Bosphorus will begin by September.
The 1.3km bridge will carry a dual three-lane road and a railway. The 3rd Strait Bridge and North Marmara project will also include a 300km highway.
Total project cost is estimated at US$4 billion and completion is expected to take five years.
