Kansas Department of Transportation has accepted a bid of US$59.4 million for the replacement of the aging Amelia Earhart Bridge.
The old truss structure will be replaced by a four-lane tied arch bridge.
Archer Western Contractors' winning tender is just under US$4 million below the estimate of US$63.2 million. The other tenderers were Jenson Construction (US$63.5 million) and OCCI (US$69.6 million).
