The planned bridge will span Chuvíscar River and is being constructed to relieve congestion in one of the busiest vehicular routes in the state capital of Chihuahua.

The 700m-long crossing features a 140m-long suspended section supported by a 52m-high arch. It will be constructed for the Municipality of Chihuahua by contractor MERP in association with Antonio Aquel, the sole bidder for the project.

Works are planned to begin before the end of 2025.
