Aas-Jakobsen has annnouced that it has been appointed to carry out pre-engineering for Norway's Hålogaland Bridge using the patented "bridge symphony" hybrid concept, which combines aspects of three different bridge types.

The concept draws together aspects of suspension, cable-stayed and segmental cantilever techniques. The approach has been developed by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration in cooperation with Aas-Jakobsen and is intended for long-span bridges ranging from 1,000m to 3,000m. Hålogaland Bridge bridge will have a main span of 1,350m.
