Aeom Australia has been appointed to develop concept plans and designs to upgrade the Shepherd Bridge in Yarraville in the Australian state of Victoria.
The contract, which was awarded by VicRoads, is part of a US$345 million truck action plan for Melbourne's inner western suburbs. The upgrade of Shepherd Bridge is part of the first stage of the project to create a freight corridor from the West Gate Freeway to the port precinct.
Tenders for carrying out the Shepherd Bridge upgrade will be advertised once design work is complete, with construction expected to begin this year.
