"We are looking for a memorable contribution to Auckland's urban waterfront setting while taking into account the proximity of the structure to the local residents and businesses," says the judging panel's chair, Professor John Hunt.

The independent panel of judges will recommend a first, second and third placed design. Each team submitting a complying stage two submission will receive US$15,000. A prize pool of US$23,000 will also be shared amongst the top designs at the discretion of the judging panel.

Results will be announced at the beginning of April.
