An ‘expression of interest’ (EOI) notice is being released to prequalified groups for major works on the AU$200 million Joy Baluch AM Bridge Duplication.

The responses to the EOI will then be used to decide which two tenderers should be shortlisted. They will be invited in September to submit an offer as part of the next stage of the procurement.

Major construction is expected to begin in 2020, with completion expected in 2022.

The bridge forms part of the National Land Transport Network at Port Augusta, providing access across the Spencer Gulf for commuter, commercial and freight vehicles in the northern region of South Australia. It is also a key tourist connection to the Eyre Peninsula, northern South Australia and beyond.

Joy Baluch Bridge

Duplication of the existing Joy Baluch AM Bridge is intended to improve road safety and efficiency for all users and address current bridge speed restrictions as well as the safety of people walking or cycling across the bridge.
