Brazil's national highways department, DAER, is putting in place emergency measures to rebuild a bridge that collapsed last week following heavy rains.
The 50-year-old concrete bridge over the Jacuí River is 314m long, with five 42m-long main spans. The cost of its replacement is estimated at between US$5.2 million and US$5.7 million.
