Five vehicles were plunged into the water killing at least three people when a bridge collapsed on Friday in Mexico.

The 260m-long Tonalá I Bridge was on the Coatzacoalcos - Cárdenas highway, which links the states of Tabasco and Veracruz.

The civil protection secretary Ranulfo Márquez Hern'ndez reported that the reasons for the collapse are not yet known.
